we consider how the practices oulined in other sections are influenced by the times and places in which Hinduism is practiced. No religion is static – religious practice involves negotiated relationships according to time, place, and circumstance.
The central theme in this section is authority – its role in ensuring the continuity of a tradition and its ability to successfully adapt to changing circumstances.
